StraLugano 21 km Start Waves

The 21 km race features two start waves:

  • 9:30 am: Elite athletes and all participants with a certified time faster than 1:20:00 (men) or 1:34:00 (women)
  • 10:20 am: All remaining participants
Important: regardless of your start wave, all participants are eligible for the overall podium, and all Swiss athletes compete for the Swiss Championship.

The time entered during registration will be verified by DataSport using the StraLugano race history.
If you have never participated in StraLugano but have achieved a qualifying time in another race within the last two years, you may request assignment to the first start wave by sending your result to [email protected].

Swiss Championship

According to the regulations of Swiss Athletics, the following timing rules apply only to the Swiss Championship:
  • Overall Men and Women: rankings are based on gun time
  • U20 Men/U20 Women and Masters categories from M35/W35 onwards: rankings are based on net time (chip time)

Start Wave Assignment

Approximately two weeks before the race, each participant will receive information about their assigned start wave and start time, together with their race bib assignment, starting from 15 September.
